Senator Farley's Apples Have Been Delivered To His Amsterdam Office
"The apples have arrived!" State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady) said with a laugh when State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) arrived at Senator Farley's Albany office on Tuesday, November 29th. The two had agreed upon a friendly wager on the Class A State championship football game between the Amsterdam Rams and the Geneva High School Panthers. The Amsterdam Rams won convincingly by a score of 35 to 14.
"Your guys were tough," Senator Nozzolio said to Senator Farley, referring to the Rams players. "That quarterback (T.J. Czeski) was simply amazing."
"I wasn't worried at all," Senator Farley replied. "Those kids worked hard. Amsterdam has a great winning tradition and I fully expected the Rams to be victorious."
Senator Nozzolio told Senator Farley if Geneva lost, he would give a bushel of apples from Red Jacket Orchards, a business in Senator Nozzolio's district. When Senator Nozzolio came to Albany for a special session of the Senate, he delivered on his promise.
"These apples really belong to the people of Amsterdam and so I had them sent to my Amsterdam District Office in the Riverfront Center," Senator Farley said. "I look forward to the Rams coming to Albany in January so they can be honored by the entire State Senate and Assembly. We are truly proud of your efforts."
