Local Woman Named To State Panel

Ann Brigid Sullivan of Grove Street, Morris, has been confirmed by the state senate for a term on the board of visitors of the Broome Developmental Disabilities Services Office, Senator James L. Seward announced today. Seward is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, which must consider nominations before they are acted upon by the full senate.

Sullivan is a homemaker and parent of six children with disabilities. She has served on the board of governors of NYS Association for Retarded Citizens for 16 years and the board of directors of ARC Otsego for 18 years. She has also served on the committee for special education for Morris Central School.

"Ann Sullivan will be a valuable member of the board of visitors," Seward said. "I commend the governor on his nomination and wish her well as she serves."

The panel reviews the operations of the center and works with the director to make recommendations concerning its programs and policies.

The term expires in 2008.

The position carries no compensation.
