State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District), the Chairman of the New York State Senate Aging Committee, in an effort to help senior citizens in our community navigate the upcoming Medicare Drug Benefit Program enrollment period, will host a forum on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church Auditorium located at 9511-4th Avenue.

This important and informative event will feature presentations from various Federal, State and independent organizations including: AARP, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, NYC Department for the Aging, Medicare Rights Center, NYS Statewide Senior Action Council, the New York State Office For Aging, the Social Security Administration and the EPIC Program.

Senator Golden knows that obtaining affordable and quality prescription drug coverage is a major concern for many senior citizens, and that the new Medicare Drug Benefit Program may seem confusing and overwhelming at its start. Senator Golden stated, "By providing our senior citizens and their families with important information regarding the program, and this opportunity to gain a true and complete understanding of the new system, we are helping to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the new Medicare program."
