Senator Golden Joins With Bay Ridge Restaurant To Raise Much Needed Funds For Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort

Brooklyn- Responding to the horrifying effects of Hurricane Katrina, which has caused incalculable disaster to the southeastern portion of the United States, displacing many from their homes, causing death and causing tremendous property damage, Senator Marty Golden and the Banana Leaf Restaurant are planning a fundraising event.

The event will be held throughout the entire day, from 12:00 p.m. through11:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2005. Allmoney raised that day through the sale of their menu itemswill beearmarked specificallyfor donation tothe relief efforts. Furthermore,a jeweler will donate his designer crystal tothe event and sell them to customers atthe price the consumer suggests.

The funds will be forwarded to the American Red Cross International Fund for
Hurricane Relief efforts.

Banana Leaf Restaurant serves excellent authentic Malaysian food and
dessert. It is located at 6814 4th Ave, Brooklyn (1 block from R train Bay
Ridge Avenue Station).

Senator Marty Golden stated, "I encourage local residents to dine and to donate at the Banana Leaf Restaurant on Monday, September 12, 2005. As the images of destruction and of horror are played on out television screens, we are all looking for a way to help our fellow Americans. This event will surely provide such an opportunity to assist those effected by Hurricane Katrina."
