Clyde--Citing the importance of downtown revitalization efforts, State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio announced that the Housing Trust Fund Corporation has approved over
$ 400,000.00 in grants for the communities of Clyde and Savannah. Clyde will receive $200,000 and Savannah will receive $187,986.00 through the New York Main Street program. The funding will be used for façade renovation, building renovation and streetscape enhancement.

"This beneficial project will aid in the redevelopment of properties in both the communities of Clyde and Savannah and will help encourage the creation of new businesses and job creation in the community," said Senator Nozzolio.

The New York Main Street Program was created by Governor George E. Pataki in 2004, to provide funding for Main Street and downtown revitalization efforts, help coordinate and guide efforts among State agencies, and to serve as a resource to communities looking for financial and technical assistance to revitalize their Main Street.

Senator Nozzolio praised the Savannah Chamber of Commerce and Clyde Chamber of Commerce as well as the Mayor of Clyde, Roxanne Kise, Don Colvin, the Supervisor of the town of Savannah and other local officials for successfully submitting the New York Main Street application.

"The Main Street initiative is critically important in addressing and supporting the needs of our communities and ensuring that these downtown revitalization efforts come to fruition," Nozzolio concluded.
