Senator Nozzolio Secures $50,000 For Village Of Red Creek

Michael F. Nozzolio

Red Creek – Continuing his aggressive efforts to support the needs of our villages, New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured a $50,000 State grant for the Village of Red Creek. The funding will assist with the purchase of a new multi-purpose vehicle that will be used for a variety of needs in the Village.

“This state funding will allow the Village of Red Creek to continue to provide important services for their residents,” said Senator Nozzolio. “This vehicle will be used for plowing and salting the roads during major snow storms in the winter and will be used year round to improve the safety of Red Creek’s roads. It was a pleasure to secure this State grant to support the Village of Red Creek and their residents.”

The new truck will have a plow and sander that will be used to remove snow and keep the Village’s streets clear. The truck will also be used for various duties during the warmer months, including street maintenance.

Village of Red Creek Mayor Debra Letson said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Senator Nozzolio for this great surprise, which will help purchase a new truck for the Village. Red Creek is a very small rural community with a dwindling tax base and; each year it gets more difficult to provide services for the Village residents. We have needed to update our work truck for some time and this money will enable us to do it sooner. We have a great opportunity to revitalize and all the help we get is greatly appreciated.”

“I would like to thank Andy Sharpe of the Water Department and Susan Saylor, Village Clerk Treasurer, for their combined efforts to make this event happen,” continued Letson. “It is good to see people believe in a cause, set their goal, and work hard to achieve it.”

Highway Superintendent Andy Sharpe said, “This is wonderful news and I greatly appreciate Senator Nozzolio’s hard work in securing this important funding. The Highway Department has been in desperate need of financial assistance to upgrade our equipment and we could not have done it without Senator Nozzolio’s assistance. We appreciate the Senator’s continued support on our behalf.”
