Senator Dale M. Volker Secures $40,000 For Goodwill Industries Of Western New York

(ALBANY, NY and DEPEW, NY) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-C-I, Depew) today announced that he has secured a $40,000 state grant for Goodwill Industries of Western New York. These state funds will supplement Goodwill Industries of Western New York’s operational costs and continue in providing services for those who utilize their programs and services. Senator Volker secured these state funds as part of the adopted 2005-2006 State Budget.

"Goodwill Industries of Western New York has provided hope, dignity, independence and respect for people who are trying to improve their lives and their families," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "For several decades, Goodwill Industries of Western New York has served individuals with disabilities and other disadvantaging conditions by providing job training, employment services and educational opportunities. They also provide job placement and post-employment support to help people who want to help themselves become productive members of our society. I am honored to have been able to secure $40,000 in state funds for Goodwill Industries to continue their mission in enabling people to improve their lives and get back on their feet to live productive and well-meaning lives."

Goodwill Industries of Western New York, Inc., founded in 1920, is one of 215 independent Goodwill's in the United States, Canada and 24 other countries. Through Goodwill Services of Western New York, their services have helped people overcome barriers to employment and become independent, taxpaying members of our community. In 2003, Goodwill served 2452 individuals.
