Senator Fuschillo And Assemblyman Mcdonough Participate In Newbridge Road Elementary's Career Day
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), a member of the Senate’s Education Committee, and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) recently visited the second grade class at Newbridge Road Elementary School as part of the school’s career day.
Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman McDonough explained their role as state legislators and what their responsibilities are in Albany. To demonstrate how the legislative process works, the two elected officials proposed an idea, and had the students "vote" on whether it should become a law.
Afterwards, Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman McDonough answered questions from the students and listened to their ideas for new state laws.
"It was great to have the opportunity to show children how their government works and hear their ideas for the future of our state," said Senator Fuschillo.
