Senator Fuschillo Announces That April 2nd-8th Is National Library Week
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), a member of the Senate’s Education Committee, is informing residents that the week from April 2nd-8th is National Library Week.
"Libraries provide people of all ages with free access to a tremendous amount of information, programs, and services right in their own community. This week is a way to thank our local libraries and their staff members for their valuable contributions to our community," said Senator Fuschillo.
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is an annual, national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is designed to celebrate the contributions of America’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries – school, public, academic and special – participate.
Residents who would like more information about available programs and services that libraries provide can visit the New York State Library online at www.nysl.nysed.gov or contact their local library.
