Senator Fuschillo To Hold Prescription Drug Forum At Amityville Library

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) is inviting local senior citizens to a free community meeting to learn how the New York State EPIC program can help reduce prescription drug costs.

The meeting will be held at the Amityville Public Library, located on the corner of Oak and John Streets in Amityville, on Thursday, February 2nd at 2 pm. A representative from the EPIC program will be on hand to explain how the program works and answer questions.

EPIC is a New York State program that is open to New York State residents ages 65 or older who have an annual income of $35,000 or less if single, or $50,000 or less if married. The plan covers almost all prescription medicines, both brand name and generic, as well as insulin, insulin syringes and needles. According to the New York State Department of Health, over 340,000 seniors already belong.

"Many seniors are unaware that the EPIC program can help them save money on their prescription drug costs, or are unsure if they qualify for it. This meeting will allow residents to hear directly from an EPIC representative about how the program works and ask questions," said Senator Fuschillo. "I encourage seniors to come to the meeting and learn about this cost saving program."

Residents who have any questions about the February 2nd EPIC community meeting should call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-546-4100.
