Senator Fuschillo Presents Military Medals To Anne Lantelme Of Massapequa Park
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District)recently presented Navy veteran Anne Lantelme, a resident of Massapequa Park, with the New York State Medal For Merit and the New York State Conspicuous Service Star. Mrs. Lantelme earned the awards for her service during World War II.
"Like so many men and women of her generation, Mrs. Lantelme served her country with honor in the fight against tyranny during the second world war. Each of us owes her, and all of our veterans, a great deal of gratitude, admiration, and respect. It is my pleasure to congratulate her on earning these honors," said Senator Fuschillo.
Mrs. Lantelme served in the Naval Communications Annex in Washington, DC during the second world war, attaining the rank of Seaman First Class. Mrs. Lantelme also holds the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and a Navy Unit Commendation.
The New York State Medal for Merit recognizes military personnel who were awarded a valor, achievement, commendation or meritorious service decoration or whose service directly supported combat operations.
The New York State Conspicuous Service Star is intended to recognize current and former members of the United States Armed Forces who were recipients of unit commendations from combat.
