Senator Volker Secures $40,000 For The
(ALBANY, N.Y.) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-C-I, Depew) announced today that he has secured $40,000 for the Elma Public Library within the adopted 2006-2007 New York State Budget. These state funds will be utilized by the Elma Public Library to ensure that it remains fully staffed and operational for Elma residents."
"The Elma Public Library is a significant public asset to the Elma community and is used by young and old alike," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "From normal functions of lending books and other materials, the Elma Public Library is committed to serving as a lifelong center for learning. Although, Erie County continues to face financial challenges of their own, there is no reason why our public libraries must face closure or reduced hours. The Elma Public Library's commitment to instilling the love of reading and being a educational resource for our residents, is one I fully support and will always vigorously fight for. It goes without saying that the Elma Public Library is a benefit to the entire Elma community and I am pleased to have secured funding."
Michael Nolan, Supervisor of the Town of Elma said, "Our community and our patrons are very proud and supportive of our public library. This $40,000 state grant secured by Senator Volker will allow us ensure that our library remains fully staffed and operational so that all of our residents can enjoy what tremendous resources our public library has to offer. The Town of Elma is extremely grateful to our dedicated staff and our supportive patrons. It is why our library is heavily utilized by the public and the reason why we must do everything we can to ensure that our residents have the opportunity and access to information that they deem important and necessary. We appreciate Senator Volker securing this $40,000 state grant for our residents and library patrons.""
