Senator Farley And Assemblyman Tonko To Honor Fonda-fultonville Cross Country Team In Albany
The Fonda-Fultonville Cross Country Boys Team will be heading to Albany on Monday, February 6th, to be honored by State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady) and Assemblyman Paul Tonko (D-Amsterdam).
"Assemblyman Tonko and I are truly pleased to be honoring another State championship team from Montgomery County," Senator Farley said, referring to the Amsterdam Rugged Rams high school football Class A champions, who are also being honored by the Senate and Assembly.
The Fonda-Fultonville high school team won the Class C New York State Cross Country Championship last November 12th. The team brought in a combined score of 55 points, beating the runner-up school Canastota by 12 points.
Senator Farley and Assemblyman Tonko have co-sponsored a New York State resolution honoring the cross country team. Members of the championship team are Jeffrey Dufel, Edward "E.J." Givis, Jr., John Moore, Blake Dwyer, Joseph Geniti, Brian Palumbo and Jeremy McAllister.
"These are remarkable individuals that truly understand the word 'team.' They worked together as a unit and together they became champions," Farley said.
