Bonacic Secures $100,000 For Delaware County Municipalities

John J. Bonacic

State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) announced today that he has secured Senate Initiative funding to assist several Delaware County municipalities. The grants will be used to purchase equipment and to make capital improvements.

"I am pleased to secure this aid for these Delaware County localities," stated Senator Bonacic. "Providing State support for projects and equipment necessary for local services is critical as it eliminates the need for municipalities to increase property taxes. Our property taxpayers are already overburdened."

Senator Bonacic said that the funding he secured was based on specific requests from the localities and will be distributed as follows:

Municipality Amount of Aid

Town of Hamden $20,000

Town of Kortright $20,000

Town of Roxbury $10,000

Town of Stamford $20,000

Village of Hancock $20,000

Village of Walton $10,000

Town of Hamden Supervisor, Wayne Marshfield said that the funding Senator Bonacic secured will be used to insulate and install vinyl siding on the town's highway garage. "This funding will create a substantial fuel cost savings to our taxpayers for decades to come. We thank the Senate and especially Senator Bonacic for this aid," Supervisor Marshfield stated.

Village of Walton Mayor Edward Snow said that the funding will be used to restore the heating system of Walton's Historic Village Theatre. Mayor Snow stated, "We are very fortunate to have a Senator like John that cares for all his constituents and sees that everyone gets a share of whatever is available."
