John J. Bonacic

State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) announced today that the Legislature has agreed to a health spending plan that includes $500,000 in funding for hospitals in Ulster County. Ellenville Regional and Kingston Hospital will each receive $250,000.

"Keeping our hospitals strong is something I care deeply about. Access to quality health care is a top priority and important to the people residing in Ulster County," stated Senator Bonacic.

Steve Kelley, President and Chief Operating Officer of Ellenville Regional Hospital stated, "Ellenville Regional Hospital is very grateful to Senator Bonacic for securing funding for Ellenville’s future. Senator Bonacic was the first major leader to support Ellenville when the chips were down and created the momentum that has resulted in our success. We will use this funding to upgrade critical hospital services that will benefit the community."

Chief Operating Officer of Kingston Hospital, Michael Kaminski, was elated when he heard the news from Senator Bonacic.

"Living in upstate New York should not mean living with lower quality health care. I will continue to do all I can to ensure the hospitals in this Senate District receive as much State aid as possible," concluded State Senator John J. Bonacic.
