Bonacic Secures State Aid For Otisville-mount Hope Ambulance Corps
State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) announced today
that he has secured $23,000 in State funding for the Otisville-Mount Hope
Ambulance Corp. The funding will be used to purchase equipment.
"Our volunteer emergency organizations are a vital component of our
communities," stated Senator Bonacic. "Upgrading equipment is crucial to
our safety, yet we cannot expect our already overburdened property
taxpayers to pay for it."
Captain Dan Dodd said that the funding secured by Senator Bonacic
will be used for the purchase of a stretch chair to ease patient lifting
strain on personnel, and radios and pagers to improve communication between
our crews. "We are a small ambulance corps with little money, therefore,
we would not be able to afford the high cost of updated equipment to
improve safety without the grant. We are grateful to Senator Bonacic for
all of his support," Captain Dodd stated.
Senator Bonacic concluded, "I was pleased to secure this funding for
Otisville-Mount Hope. The volunteers sacrifice so much. I will continue
to support their efforts."
