Senator Bonacic Tours Ulster Performing
State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C - Mount Hope) visited the Ulster Performing Arts Center (UPAC). He was guided by Chris Silva of UPAC. The nonprofit UPAC is governed by a volunteer community Board of Directors and is currently managed by the Bardavon 1869 Opera House. Since the theater derives only 35% of its income from ticket sales, it relies upon the support of individuals, businesses, foundations, and government to operate. Senator Bonacic has consistently supported the Arts in this region, including UPAC. The Senator secured $50,000 in State funding for UPAC which will be used for ongoing renovations. Chris Silva stated, "Senator Bonacic’s past, present, and future response to UPAC is vital to its ongoing existence and is greatly appreciated".
