Senator John J. Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently announced that he has secured funding for the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County to offset the cost of the purchase of a maintenance truck. The truck will be used for the upkeep of the grounds at Camp Edey in Bayport.

"We strive to maintain our facilities to meet the highest standards," said Marilyn A. Proios, the CEO and Executive Director of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. "Thanks to Senator Flanagan’s support, we can continue to offer girls high-quality service in a fun and safe environment.

Girl Scouts of Suffolk County is the largest youth serving agency on Long Island, the largest Girl Scout Council in New York State and the 5th ranked Girl Scout Council in the nation. It serves more than 43,000 girls between the ages of five and seventeen.

"The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County play such an important role in the lives of young Long Island girls that it is essential that we support their efforts. I am happy to assist them in their efforts and I applaud their valuable service to our community," stated Senator Flanagan.
