Senate Posts Local Initiative Projects For 2006-07
The New York State Senate today posted on its website (www.senate.state.ny.us) a list of local projects that have been recommended to receive State grants from the Community Projects Fund.
The posting, which is being done in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the Governor, the Assembly and the Senate, will give the media and the public an opportunity to review project recommendations and make comments. TheSenate will continue to post new project recommendations for review and comment as they are processed.
“These recommendations represent important community projects that will improve the quality of life for senior citizens, children and families, and in education, health care, culture and recreation, and in many other areas,” Senator Joe Robachsaid.
The posting of this information begins a 30 day public review period. The project initiative forms will be forwarded to the appropriate State agencies, then to the Attorney General and Comptroller’s offices for a final contract review. This has been the review and authorization process for these grants for many years.
