Senator Nozzolio Announces Career Connections 2006
Port Byron– Citing the critical importance of educating students on a wide range of potential career opportunities, New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he is partnering with Port Byron Central Schools to sponsor “Career Connections 2006.” The career exploration program for Port Byron Students and several other surrounding schools will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Dana L. West High School Auditorium.
“I am very pleased to sponsor this valuable event and encourage all students to take advantage of this beneficial opportunity. The upcoming career exploration program is an excellent way for students to meet with representatives of some of the top businesses and organizations in our area and to ask questions about the career opportunities that are available to them in our region,” Senator Nozzolio said.
Over 70 businesses and organizations from the Central New York Region will be participating in this exciting event designed to bring the school and surrounding community together and to inform students of the many employment opportunities the region has to offer.
Some of the companies participating in this event are: Auburn Memorial Hospital, Athletic Communications, Auburn Police Department, Ameriprise Financial Services, The Citizen, Currier Plastics, EMCOM, Excellus BlueCross Blue Shield, LeMoyne College, The Post Standard, Wegmans Food Market and many more including government service, finance, health services, law enforcement, education and a variety of technical careers.
