Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz To Hold Homeland Security Tour Of Lincoln Hospital
In response to federal cuts to New York, Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) has scheduled a tour of Lincoln Hospital with the New York State’s Homeland Security Committee to take place on July 11, 2006 at 10:00AM.
According to Senator Diaz: "We need to assure the residents of the South Bronx that if another terrorist attack were to occur, all necessary emergency measures will be in place to protect and safeguard the lives of our community. In case of a biochemical attack, the only facility that is available to our people is Lincoln Hospital."
As a member of the NYS Senate Committee on Homeland Security, Senator Diaz has invited the Committee Chairman, Senator Michael Balboni, and the Director of the Office of Homeland Security, Mr. James W. McMahon to visit Lincoln Hospital and further discuss how best to prepare Lincoln Hospital for the responsibility it will bear if New York is faced in the event of any future terrorist attacks.
Also invited to attend the July 11th meeting are NYS Senator Jose Serrano NYS Assemblyman Ruben Diaz, Jr., NYS Assemblywoman Carmen Arroyo, and NYC Councilmember Maria Del Carmen Arroyo.
