State Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz To Be Honored By The NYS Division Of Housing And Community Renewal

On Friday, April 28, 2006 New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) will receive the "Champion of Housing Award" by the NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal. The Awards Ceremony will take place in the Capitol Room of the Albany Crown Plaza Hotel from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.

In a congratulatory letter to Senator Diaz, Commissioner Judith A. Calogero, wrote, "It gives me a great pleasure to inform you that you have been selected to receive the Division of Housing and Community Renewal's Annual Premio Campeones de la Vivienda (Champions of Housing Award)."

In her April 10th letter to Senator Diaz, Commissioner Calogero also stated, "As you know, Governor Pataki, has been a strong proponent of affordable housing throughout the State, both in the Hispanic Community and beyond. It is well known that you have always championed this cause on behalf of your constituency. As a member of the Legislature, your work on these matters and your support are much appreciated. This award is a humble recognition of your efforts."
