Fuschillo And Mcdonough Secure State Funding For Bellmore Street Festival
State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) have announced that they secured $12,500 in state funding to help fund the 21st Annual Bellmore Family Street Festival.
Organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores, the Bellmore Family Street Festival is an annual, family oriented event which includes exhibits by local merchants, rides, entertainment, food, a petting zoo, and other attractions. According to the Chamber, over 120,000 visitors attend the festival each year, making it one of Nassau County’s largest street fairs.
"Each year, the Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores puts together an outstanding festival that benefits both local families and local small business owners. Residents get to enjoy the attractions right in their own community, while small businesses get a tremendous boost from the over 120,000 visitors who come to enjoy the sights and shops in the heart of downtown Bellmore. This is an important event for the Bellmore community, and I am pleased to help support it," said Senator Fuschillo.
"The Chamber’s hard work results in a successful festival year after year, which benefits the entire Bellmore community. Bellmore’s families and businesses should take great pride in knowing that their community attracts over 120,000 people from all across Long Island and beyond each year because of the Street Festival. I am very happy to help support this event," said Assemblyman McDonough.
"On behalf of our Executive Board, the Festival Committee, and the over 300 business owners and community organizations our great Chamber represents, I’d like to thank Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman McDonough for once again securing this state funding," said Joni Caputo, the Chamber’s Executive Director and Festival Coordinator. "Their commitment to Bellmore’s families and small businesses will play an important role in making this year’s Bellmore Family Street Festival a resounding success."
This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th. Residents who would like more information about the Bellmore Family Street Festival can contact the Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores at 516-679-1875 or visit their website at www.bellmorechamber.com.
