Senator Fuschillo And Councilwoman Cullin Congratulate Freeport Resident On Her 100th Birthday
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Town of Hempstead Councilwoman Angie Cullin recently visited Freeport resident Laura Elizabeth Colter to congratulate her on the occasion of her 100th Birthday.
Senator Fuschillo also presented Mrs. Colter with a resolution, which was passed by the State Senate, in recognition of her one-hundredth birthday and for her years of involvement in Freeport community.
Mrs. Colter has been a resident of Freeport since the 1920s, when she moved there with her late husband, Herman. In the years that followed, she took an active role in her community. She has been a member of the Bethel AME Church of Freeport since she first moved to the Village, and served as a Stewardess of the Church for more than 50 years. She remains an Honorary Stewardess of the Church. She was also one of the first members of the Bethel AME Church Senior Program, and has been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for the past 65 years.
"Laura Elizabeth Colter has been an active member of the Village community for decades and it is our pleasure to congratulate her on reaching this extraordinary milestone," said Senator Fuschillo. "We wish her many more years of happiness."
