Senator Fuschillo Reads To Freeport Kindergarten Class As Part Of "read Across America" Day
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently visited Ms. Ladson’s kindergarten class at Archer Street Elementary School in Freeport to help celebrate "Read Across America" day.
Senator Fuschillo read House Mouse, Senate Mouse by Peter and Cheryl Barnes to the class. The story allowed the children to learn, in a fun way, about how a bill becomes a law and what Senator Fuschillo’s job is as a New York State Senator.
"Read Across America" day is an annual, nationwide program organized by the National Education Association. It is the country’s largest reading celebration.
"Reading is an important skill that children will need throughout their lives," said Senator Fuschillo. "This event is a great way to demonstrate that reading can be fun for adults as well as children. I really enjoyed my visit."
