Senator Fuschillo’s Legislation Providing Roosevelt School District With Financial Stability Gains Senate Approval

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

The New York State Senate today approved legislation sponsored by Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) that would close the Roosevelt School District’s multi-million dollar budget deficit.

The legislation (S. 6508) would provide the school district with a grant of up to $8 million without any cost to Roosevelt taxpayers to help eliminate the district’s budget deficit.

Senator Fuschillo said, "It is my hope that Assemblywoman Earlene Hooper will join me in sponsoring this legislation and get it approved by the Assembly. Securing this grant will allow the Roosevelt School District to focus on its most important task; giving the children of Roosevelt a quality education."
