Skelos Meets With Senior Softball Team That Restored Local Ball Field

New York State Senate Deputy Majority Leader Dean G. Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) met with the "Boys of Summer" senior softball team to view the newly cleaned ball field at Hempstead Lake State Park. Through the efforts of the team’s organizer, Bob Simmons, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation restored the neglected softball field at Hempstead Lake State Park.

After meeting with the group Senator Skelos said, "The field looks great. These are talented ballplayers and a great group of guys. They did an incredible job and returned the field to a playable condition."
