Northville Family Day In Park Event Slated For Sunday
State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C - Schenectady) is teaming up with the Village of Northville for a Family Day in the Park event on Sunday, July 1st, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Waterfront Park located behind the Main Street businesses in Northville.
This event is the official opening of the park for the 2007 summer season. Musical entertainment will be provided by various Sacandaga Valley Arts Network (SVAN) musicians, local church choirs, and the Actors Company. The classic rock group, The Bel-Aires, will perform from 5 to 7 p.m.
Senator Farley is hosting a Kids Corner, an area filled with children's activities during the day. Activities will include balloon animals and crafts from 3 to 4 p.m.; story hour and coloring from 4 to 5 p.m.; face painting from 5 to 6 p.m.; and games from 6 to 8 p.m.
Local organizations that are also participating in the day include: Child and Family Health Plus, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Fulton and Montgomery Counties, and HFM Prevention Council.
As part of an outreach effort, Senator Farley said his District Offices typically take part in health fairs or help host festivals and events, such as Northville's Family Day and also the Home Safety Day that Senator Farley is helping the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department with on June 30th at the fire house, located at 126 Pawling Street, Hagaman.
