Cortland Woman Appointed To State Panel

Andrea Haenlin-Mott of Cortland has been confirmed by the New York State Senate to serve on the Advisory Council to the Commission on the Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities, Senator James L. Seward said today. Seward is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, which must consider nominations before they are acted upon by the full senate.

Haenlin-Mott, of Evergreen Street, Cortland, is ADA coordinator for Cornell University's facilities services. She is a former associate with Cornell's School of Industrial Relations, where she was project director of the Northeast ADA and IT Center. She holds a master's degree in health from SUNY Cortland.
"I commend the governor for appointing Haenlin-Mott to the council," Senator James L. Seward said. "Her work on behalf of the disabled and her broad knowledge of the issues make her an ideal candidate to serve the state in this capacity."

The panel advises and assists the commission in developing policies relating to care of the disabled.
The term expires February 4, 2008.
The position is uncompensated.
