Senator Golden To Host Verrazano-narrows Bridge Traffic Town Hall With Officials

Martin J. Golden

Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) today announced that he has planned a town hall meeting regarding the traffic nightmare being caused by the reconstruction of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge for Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. at the Fort Hamilton Senior Center located at 9941 Fort Hamilton Parkway and is encouraging all residents and business owners to attend.

The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge General Manager, Jim Ferrarra, will be in attendance as well as members of the transit/bus operations division and those involved in the project.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "Since the reconstruction and renovation of the Verrazano- Narrows Bridge began this Spring, my office has regularly received complaints related to traffic congestion, loss of business by store owners, and delays along express bus and local bus routes. The work on the Bridge must be completed, but the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority must take into consideration the true inconvenience that this project is having on our streets and in our neighborhood. Adjustments to the plan must be considered for the betterment of all commuters, residents and business owners."
