Senator Golden’s Lunar New Year Event Planned At New Utrecht High School
Brooklyn- Senator Marty Golden, together with the Chinese American Partnership Inc., today is announcing that he will be hosting the 6th annual Lunar New Year celebration on Sunday, March 4, 2006, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at New Utrecht High School located at 1601 80th Street in Brooklyn.
The celebration will feature cultural performances, community information, and awards presentations. The Lunar New Year celebration program includes performances by seniors citizens, local children, and professional entertains of diverse ethnic backgrounds including Chinese and Malaysian. All residents are welcome.
Senator Marty Golden stated, "I am pleased to host my 6th Lunar New Year Celebration for the community in celebration of the year of the boar. In 2004, I led the passage of legsislation in the State Senate that recognizes Lunar New Year as an official New York State celebration day. With the celebrations of lunar new year and Asian Heritage Month, I am promoting racial harmony and cultural appreciation throughout our community."
