Citing the critical importance of assisting local villages in their efforts to protect and serve the community, New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio today announced that he has secured $10,000 in state funding for the Village of Clyde Fire Department and an additional $10,000 for the Clyde Police Department. Senator Nozzolio also successfully secured a $12,000 State grant for facility improvements at the cemetery in the Town of Rose.

“Our local police and fire departments provide critical services for our citizens and communities,” said Senator Nozzolio. “The Clyde Police and Fire Departments have long served this community with steadfast dedication and courage. It is vitally important that these Departments have the best possible resources in order to do their jobs effectively and it was a pleasure to secure this state funding.”

Senator Nozzolio was joined in Clyde by Village Mayor Roxanne Kise, Fire Chief Joe Tavano, and Police Chief Charles Koerner to announce the funding at the Fire Department on Ford Street. The state funding will help purchase a new utility truck for the Fire Department to replace their current truck, which is over 40 years old. The Police Department will use the funding to purchase specialized security equipment.

Village of Clyde Mayor Roxanne Kise said, “We are so thankful for all that Senator Nozzolio has done for the Village and this funding is greatly appreciated. The Senator is extremely helpful whenever we need assistance and I look forward to working with him in the future.”

Clyde Police Chief Charles Koerner said, “Senator Nozzolio has been a staunch supporter of the Clyde Police Department and he is always committed to providing us with the necessary resources to ensure public safety.”

Clyde Fire Chief Joe Tavano said, “This important funding will help us purchase a new truck to pull our ice water rescue boat and will serve as an EMS back-up. The Department is very grateful to Senator Nozzolio for his efforts and we can’t thank him enough.”

“Our brave firefighters and police officers represent the very best of our communities and the very best of New York State. As State Senator, I commend and thank them for their commitment to serving and protecting the public,” Nozzolio continued.

Later in the day, Senator Nozzolio visited the Town Hall in the Town of Rose to deliver a $12,000 State grant for facility improvements at the Rose Cemetery. Senator Nozzolio was joined by Rose Supervisor Lucinda Collier and members of the Rose Cemetery Committee.

Steve Guthrie of the Rose Cemetery Committee said, “Thanks to the efforts of Senator Nozzolio, we will be able to construct a new building to house our tractor at the cemetery. With this funding, we will now be able to begin the project this Spring.”
