Senator Nozzolio Delivers $60,000 For Renovation Of Lyons Town Hall

Michael F. Nozzolio

Lyons– New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio today announced that he has secured a $60,000 state grant for the renovation of the Lyons Town Hall. Senator Nozzolio made the announcement at the Town Hall at 43 Phelps Street in Lyons.

“The Town’s office building is in need of serious renovation because of extensive leakage from the roof,” said Senator Nozzolio. “The cost of this renovation project would have been borne by local property taxpayers, so I am extremely pleased that I was able to secure a significant state grant to help pay for these necessary renovations.”

Currently, the roof of the town’s office building leaks into the main areas of the building during heavy rain storms causing significant damage to ceilings in the building. Upon inspection, it has been found that the entire roof is in a state of disrepair and requires a complete replacement, including new trusses. This long-term solution is costly and would be difficult for the property taxpayers of the Town of Lyons to absorb.

The Town of Lyons will use the funding to remove five heating and air conditioning units from the roof and install two central heating and air conditioning units in the basement. The existing roof will also be removed and be replaced with new trusses and a new roof.

Town of Lyons Supervisor James Fabino said, “On behalf of all of our residents, I would like to thank Senator Nozzolio for his generous support of this critical Town project. His assistance will allow us to complete necessary renovations without adding another costly burden on our local property taxpayers.”
