"I am very pleased that Governor Spitzer has signed this bill into law so that we can continue to improve the lives of our senior citizens by enhancing their emotional and mental well-being through companionship with pets such as cats, dogs and other small animals," stated Senator Reverend Diaz, the Chair of the Senate Minority Task Force on Senior Issues. "It is important for us to take whatever steps we can take to protect, assist and improve the quality of life for our seniors."
