Senator Diaz Applauds Supreme Court Decision On Abortion Ban

New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) expressed his deep appreciation for the prudence and the wisdom of the United States Supreme Court. In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court upheld the Partial Birth Abortion Act passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bush in 2003.

"The New York Hispanic Clergy Organization went to Washington, DC to offer our support for President Bush’s Supreme Court nominee, Chief Justice Roberts, and we are proud of our efforts to have offered our support for other pro-life Supreme Court Justices, such as Justice Alito," stated Senator Rev. Diaz. "Like many Hispanic Americans, I am delighted that Justice Roberts, Justice Alito, and three of their colleagues were able to rule in favor of defending the lives of unborn children. Partial birth abortion is a late-term abortion procedure where the child is partially delivered and then gruesomely killed. It is neither a rare procedure in the United States, nor is it done only for babies who are severely deformed or dying."

Senator Rev. Diaz, a Member of the Advisory Board for Democrats for Life of New York intends to continue to keep fighting against abortion and fighting for more laws to protect the lives of all children - born and unborn.
