Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz Announces Special NYC Transit Bus Service To Universoul Circus
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D- Bronx) is happy to announce that his request for special event bus service for people traveling to the Universoul Circus at Orchard Beach between May 15th and May 20th has been approved by the MTA NYC Transit’s Division of Operations Planning.
A letter to Senator Rev. Diaz from MTA President Howard H. Roberts, Jr. stated: “We are happy to inform you that the New York City Transit will provide “special event” bus service to Orchard Beach to accommodate the customers who will be attending the Universoul Circus.”
“I am pleased to see so many agencies supporting the Universoul Circus, an annual event that offers entertainment for families and neighbors who live in my district and throughout New York,” said Senator Rev. Diaz, a Member of the Senate Committee on Children and Families.
The April 23, 2007 letter to Senator Rev. Diaz also informs: “These buses will operate between the Pelham Bay Park station of the No. 6 Lexington Line and Orchard Beach from May 15th through May 20th. The buses will depart from the Bruckner Boulevard Expressway Service Road, at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Wilkinson Avenue. Customers who arrive at the Pelham Bay Park station will use the station’s overpass ramp, to bring them directly to the staging area for the buses … These buses will operate approximately every 10 minutes, or as determined by NYC Transit’s Department of Buses, who will adjust services to meet demand.”
