Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz Disappointed With Senate Democrats
New York State Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) is disappointed that his colleagues in the Senate plan to gather today to criticize the recent ruling of the United States Supreme Court which outlaws the gruesome practice of partial-birth abortion.
"Even though I am Member of the Democratic Conference, on this issue today, this Conference is not representing me and many other Democrats who are opposed to partial-birth abortion," stated Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz. "I am sad to see the Senate Democratic Conference criticizing the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on this matter, because partial-birth abortion is such a crime of assassination on our children. Even New York’s former US Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan understood that it is nothing less than infanticide."
"I am proud to be a Democrat and I am proud to be pro-life," continued Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz. "It is our duty as Democrats to represent the true core beliefs of our Democratic party - to stand up for the weakest members of our society and offer them the liberties we all can enjoy. I applaud the Supreme Court’s ruling in Gonzales v. Carhart which outlaws the cruel medical practice of partial-birth abortion - a criminal act of killing children while they are being born - and urge my colleagues to do the same."
Senator Rev. Diaz is an Advisory Board Member of New York State Democrats for Life.
