Senator Bruno Names Senator Thomas Morahan Liaison To The Governor
Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno today appointed Senator Thomas Morahan (R-C, New City), to the leadership post of Senate Majority Liaison to the Executive Branch. The position will function primarily as a vital communication link between the Senate Majority Conference and the Governor’s Office on a wide variety of public policy issues.
"Senator Morahan has been a vocal and effective advocate for the constituents of Orange and Rockland Counties in the State Senate for nearly a decade," said Senator Bruno. "His outstanding leadership on a host of important issues has greatly improved the quality of life for children, families and senior citizens in the communities he serves. I am truly honored to appoint him to be our conference’s liaison to the Executive Branch.
"Now that we have a new administration in Albany, it is imperative that we partner together to improve our economy and create jobs, provide our children with a world-class education and deliver quality, affordable health care to the people of this state," continued Senator Bruno. "Senator Morahan is a talented and dedicated public servant, and I am extremely confident that he will serve in this role with distinction, working with the Executive to effectively communicate the Senate Majority’s priorities for the upcoming legislative session."
Senator Morahan was elected to serve the 38th District in the State Senate in May 1999 and represents the Rockland County towns of Clarkstown, Haverstraw, Orangetown, Ramapo and Stony Point and the Orange County towns of Tuxedo and Warwick.
