Thomas P. Morahan

New York State Senator Thomas P. Morahan announced that Rockland County will be receiving two grants from the NYS Office of Homeland Security for homeland security initiatives and terrorism prevention. "I want to thank New York State Homeland Security Secretary Michael Balboni for responding to the public safety concerns of the law enforcement community," said Senator Morahan. The Senator was joined by Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoefin making the funding announcement.

The State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) awarded Rockland a grant in the amount of $542,400 to be used toward homeland security efforts in the county. Rockland is also eligible to receive an additional $175,000 under SHSP. A second grant, totaling $324,200 was provided under the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP), and could be used to help fund the County's $30 million Interoperable Radio Project.
