Senator Morahan Calls On Port Authority To Bolster Growth At Stewart International Airport
Senator Morahan has contacted the Port Authority of NY and NJ to request their cooperation and assistance in working with Hudson Valley officials to develop their newly acquired Stewart International Airport facility. At the same time he is requesting that the PA study the feasibility of providing incentives to those air carriers who are congesting the runways at Newark Liberty International Airport.
The Senator has vigorously opposed the FAA Airspace Redesign Plan, and its impact on the densely populated communities of Suffern, Hillcrest, Wesley Hills, Montebello, Kaser, Chestnut Ridge and Pearl River.
"I am in contact witha top-levelFAA official, as wella asthe Executive Director of thePort Authority, with the purpose of finding ways of bostering the development of Stewart International Airport, as well as mitigatingcurrent FAA redesign plans to increase air traffic over Rockland. It is my hope that by bringing these two agencies together, we can move forward to achieve a postive result," said Morahan.
