Montgomery To Seek Input From Environmental Experts
On Future Of Gowanus Canal

State Senator Velmanette Montgomery (D-Montgomery) and environmental experts will engage in a discussion about the future of the Gowanus Canal at a community forum focusing on water quality issues, including Combined Sewage Overflows (CSO) and clean-up of the Canal.
The forum is open to the public and free-of-charge.
Speakers will include senior officials from the federal Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Army Corps of Engineers, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection.
Others who will be on hand to discuss these issues and respond to questions are Congressmembers Yvette Clarke, Jarrold Nadler, and Nydia Velázquez; State Senator Martin Connor; Assemblymembers Joan Millman and Felix Ortiz; Council Member Bill DeBlasio and representatives of Community Board Six, Gowanus Canal CDC, Gowanus Canal Conservancy, FROGG, Urban Divers, UPROSE and Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation.
