Governor’s Choice For Empire State Development Good For Upstate

Statement from state Sen. Darrel J. Aubertine (D-Cape Vincent) on Gov. David Paterson’s announcement that Robert G. Wilmers, Chairman and CEO of Buffalo’s M&T Bank, is his choice to serve as chairman of the Empire State Development Corporation:

“I’m certainly pleased that the ESDC’s new leader comes in with a wealth of experience in Upstate New York and that he will be stationed in the Buffalo office. I applaud the governor for recognizing the need to focus on the Upstate economy. I’m looking forward to working with Mr. Wilmers. Someone with his qualifications and experience will certainly be an asset to our region and all of Upstate.”
