Senator Skelos Secures $25,000 For West Hempstead Community Support Association
State Senate Majority Leader Dean G. Skelos (9th Senate District) recently announced that he secured $25,000 in state funding for the West Hempstead Community Support Association’s Hempstead Avenue Revitalization Project (HARP).
This funding will help pay for improvements to the infrastructure and aesthetics along Hempstead Avenue including traffic flow, roadway drainage, handicap accessibility, refurbishments of Halls Pond and the town parking lot, as well as the planting of over 100 trees.
"I wish to thank the residents of West Hempstead who have been working hard to continue making their community a beautiful and safe place to live and raise a family." Senator Skelos said. "I am pleased that I was able to secure this funding so the project may continue to move forward."
"We greatly appreciate Senator Skelos taking an interest in our community and his support of HARP, said Norman Kaish, Chairman of the West Hempstead Community Support Association. By raising funds on our own and with the help of Senator Skelos, the HARP project is successfully underway. Senator Skelos has shown great leadership in this contribution."
