Senator Parker Says A Warm Goodbye To His Chief Of Staff

Brooklyn, NY – State Senator Kevin Parker today announced the resignation of his Chief of Staff, who has moved on to a position in the education sector.

Glynda Carr, who has been the Senator’s Chief-of-Staff since he was elected to office in 2002, has accepted a new and exciting position as New York State Executive Director of the League of Education Voters.

"I am truly grateful for the time, support and guidance Glynda has given to me personally, my staff and my constituents," said Senator Parker. "I am extremely happy and excited for her as she moves on and advances her career as the Executive Director of a statewide institution. I am assured that the three million school-age children across the state will be rewarded with her dedication."

As Chief-of-Staff, Carr was much more than a tireless advocated for the constituents of the 21st District. As campaign manager, she was also instrumental in Senator Parker’s reelection to office in an overwhelming victory in the 2006 elections. In addition, she created and developed two of the most highly favored constituent events on the 21st District calendar – the Martin Luther King Day free gospel concert and the annual back to School Harvest Fest.

At the League of Education Voters – a statewide advocacy organization committed to progressive public education reform – Carr will continue her public service by advocating for children and young adults across the State to ensure that they receive the solid education they deserve and have access to affordable institutions of higher learning.

"Even though Glynda’s service to this community will be missed, I am confident that she will put her best effort toward helping shape the future of New York’s school children by preparing them to reach their full potential," said Senator Parker.
