Memo Shows ESPA's Clout in Senate Maneuvering

A meeting that Senator Malcolm Smith and several of his Democratic colleagues convened on December 12 with leading labor and progressive groups as well as a follow-up memo to Smith's top lieutenants from key leaders from among those groups point to the solidly fortified position that the Empire State Pride Agenda (ESPA) has secured in waging its battle to ensure that the State Senate takes up marriage equality legislation should sufficient votes for passage be rounded up.
