Golden Provides Free Income Tax Help To Constituents
State Senator Martin Golden (R-C, 22nd District), has announced that he will again provide, for the 11th year, income tax filing services to senior citizens in his district. Appointments will given every Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from February 7th through April 12th.
Senator Golden stated "Filing tax returns can be a complicated and arduous process. My office will assist senior citizens with their filings to ensure that everything is properly done. Tax season can be a stressful time, but the service we provide will hopefully make life a little easier for my constituents."
Senator Golden continued, "Correctly filing taxes is extremely important, and to avoid any possible penalties for improper filing, I encourage seniors in my district to take advantage of this completely free service. My constituents can trust that their income tax filings will all be in order."
The volunteers who will be providing assistance are college students who have been studying income tax law. Services will be provided by appointment only, for residents of the Senator's district, and can be scheduled by calling Senator Golden’s district office at (718) 238-6044.
Senator Golden will shortly announce the schedule for the free tax preparation service to be available in his Marine Park office at 3610 Quentin Road.
