Golden Will Sponsor Dental Van For Local Community Health Fair
GOLDEN TO SPONSOR N.Y.U. DENTAL VAN AS PART OF FREE HEALTH FAIR FOR COMMUNITY
Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C, Brooklyn) is announcing that he will sponsor the New York University Dental Van as part of a free community health fair being organized as an Eagle Scout Project by Matthew Delaney of Boy Scout Troop 20.
The community health fair will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the New Utrecht Reformed Church located at 18th Avenue and 84th Street from 11:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. The event will feature the participation of numerous health organizations including the March of Dimes, Project Hospitality, the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation, Health Plus, Community Board 10, Coney Island Hospital, the New York City Department of Aging, the New York City Department of Health, and more.
Senator Golden has made arrangements with the N.Y.U. College of Dentistry’s community dental van, "Smiling Faces, Going Places" to attend the event as well. The N.Y.U. Dental Van is the first dental facility on wheels to travel throughout New York City. The van is equipped with four dental units, X-ray equipment and a sterilization area.
Senator Golden stated, "I commend Matt Delaney for organizing what plans to be a very important event for all, children, families and seniors in our community. As Matt strives to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, he is performing a great service for our neighborhood. I hope many from our community will attend and benefit from the information and screenings that will be available at this event."
