Senator Golden arranged for Mr. Weill to serve as Principal for a Day.

Senator Marty Golden, in speaking to the students stated, “Sandy Weill was a kid from Brooklyn who went to P.S. 200 and now has truly achieved the American Dream. Sandy is living proof not only of the quality of our public school system, but of the tremendous importance of art education. He sat in the same desks, in the same classrooms, in the same school that all of you are in today.”

Golden continued, “Keeping the arts alive in our public schools is vital to the future of our country. An education that provides you, the students, with an understanding and appreciation of art and music gives you the tools to succeed in life.”
