Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz And Assemblyman Ruben Diaz, Jr. To Welcome Bronx Children At Tree Kings Day Celebration

On Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 12:00 noon, New York State Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) and New York State Assemblyman Ruben Diaz, Jr. (D-Bronx) will host their annual Three Kings Day Celebration at PS 5, located on the corner of East 149th Street and Jackson Avenue in The Bronx.

Senator Rev. Diaz, a Member of the Senate Committee of Children and Families announced, "The first one thousand children between the ages of one and eight years old who join us at this celebration of the Three Kings will receive a free toy and enjoy Christmas music, stories and games."

"I look forward to this special day so we can bring our families and neighbors together, enjoy the smiles on our children’s faces as they receive presents, celebrate our cultural identity, and pass along our rich traditions," stated Assemblyman Diaz, a Member of the Assembly’s Committee on Children and Families.

The Three Kings Day is based on a traditional holiday of family time and gift giving. Last year’s celebration drew more than 1000 children.

El Senador Rev. Rubén Díaz, el Asambleísta Rubén Díaz, Jr., y la Organización de Ministros Hispanos de New York le invitan a la celebración de la fiesta de Reyes Magos; donde los primeros 1000 niños entre las edades de 1-10 años recibirán un juguete completamente gratis.

La tradicional fiesta de los Reyes Magos es un acto cultural que se celebra en nuestros países hispanos como forma de recordar la visita de los Reyes Melchor, Gaspar y Baltasar cuando vinieron al pesebre en Belén y le regalaron incienso, oro y mirra al niño Jesús.

Este año 2008, esta gran celebración se llevara a cabo el sábado 5 de Enero, comenzando a las 12:00 p.m. en la Escuela Publica #5 localizada en la Avenida Jackson esquina con la Calle 149 en el Condado del Bronx.

Todos son invitados y el niño debe estar presente para recibir su regalo.
