Statement By NYS Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz In Response To Mayor Bloomberg’s Budget Cuts To City Agencies

Mayor Bloomberg continues to implement his gentrification program for New York City through this new round of budget cuts. The Mayor’s cuts will impact poor communities, low income families - many Black and Hispanic New Yorkers - and our senior citizens. The latest economic crisis was caused by greed, and Mayor Bloomberg, once again, is ever so quick to use another opportunity to cut the services and programs that less fortunate New Yorkers need.  It’s his way of telling the poor: we don’t care about you.
